Ann Dery, Resident Services Director at Cascades of Tucson

Ann Dery

Resident Services Director

Ann's Bio

Ann Dery is a native Tucsonan, growing up in what was thought to be the boondocks (the east side of town).  At age 16, Ann got her first job at Reid Park Zoo (formally Randolph Park Zoo) and retired after 31 years! During those years, she helped to raise polar bear cubs, lion cubs, antelope, and many species of birds.  Ann work was instrumental in finding the nutritional needs of anteaters which helped propagate this species in captivity. Shortly after retiring, she decided to join the Cascades of Tucson where she worked in activities for two years before being promoted to Resident Services Director. Ann has held that position for over a decade and loves helping residents with their daily needs and questions. She enjoys their conversation, as she calls it a “living history lesson”. Ann shares, “everyone one of our residents has a fascinating story to tell, especially the veterans!”
