The wonderful thing about life in Tucson is that you can enjoy our city year-round thanks to the mild winters. Here’s a list of some of the great things to do between now and the end of the year. All of these events are fun for everyone in the family!
Enchanted Snow Fall – Nov. 30-Dec. 21 – Head out to La Encantada for some Southern Arizona style snow. Every Saturday between now and Christmas there will be two 15-minute “snowstorms” to give you a little taste of a winter wonderland!
An Irish Christmas – Dec. 6 – Curtain up at 7:30 pm. This charming show features some of the greatest Irish dancers in the world, the magic of the holidays, and a collection of festive music including traditional Irish folk numbers and classic Christmas Carols. The show promises to be one of your high points this holiday season.
Christmas Tree Lighting at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain – Dec. 8 – Doors open at 5:00 pm. Make the trek up to Dove Mountain for complimentary cookies and cocoa, a visit from Santa, the unveiling of this year’s gingerbread scene, and of course the lighting of Southern Arizona’s biggest Christmas tree. Admission is $5, and all proceeds raised go to the Arizona Chapter of Canine Companions for Independence.
Fourth Avenue Street Fair – Dec. 13-15 – This year marks the 50th anniversary of the bi-annual street fair. There will be more than 300 artists and artisans selling their goods, live music and entertainment, kid’s activities and food from over 40 vendors.
70th Annual Winterhaven Festival of Lights — Dec. 14-29, 2019 — Possibly Tucson’s most enduring mid-town holiday tradition, the Winterhaven Festival of Lights will once again dazzle and get you into the spirit of the season.
Mister Bing’s Happy Holidays Supper Club – Dec. 15 – Cocktail hour starts at 5:00 pm, and then the golden age of Hollywood comes to life with a spectacular holiday dinner and show for all ages. The event also features dancing and live music. This festive night is sure to get you in the holiday spirit.
A Southwest Nutcracker — Dec. 15-16— Here’s another beloved Tucson holiday tradition. Attending this show is also one of our Cascades of Tucson annual traditions, so expect to see us there in full holiday cheer! This full-length classical ballet translates the traditional nutcracker story to Tucson in the 1880s, complete with coyotes, cavalry and rattlesnakes!
The Texas Tenors: Deep in the Heart of Christmas – Dec. 21-22 – Curtain at 2:00 & 7:30 pm. These Billboard #1 artists are bringing the holiday spirit to town with a Texas twist. They’ll hit all the seasonal favorites like “O Holy Night” and also share some of their own original Christmas music.
New Year’s Eve – Dec. 31 – Hacienda Del Sol is hosting a variety of New Year’s Eve events, including fine dining at The Grill, a buffet on the Terraza Garden Patio and dancing in Casa Luna.
